Iguana Heat Shrimp Tacos

This killer recipe comes from Iguana devotee Bert C. (last name withheld for Homeland Security purposes)and will light you up like a Costa Rican Firefly.


• - Fresh Shrimp (1 lb. peeled & tailed)
• - Iguana Mean Green Jalapeno Pepper Sauce (5oz. bottle)
• - 2 Tablespoons Sugar
• - Pack of small corn tortillas
• - 1 large or 2 small ripe Avocados
• - Fresh Lime


Marinate shrimp in sauce and sugar mixture for at least 30 minutes; BBQ on a medium grill until done (pay attention as shrimp’ll cook in 3 or 4 minutes) squeeze fresh lime onto shrimp just before they are done. Warm small corn tortillas, easy does it... halve the avocado and scoop out the flesh, smashing it evenly on the tortillas. Dice up the shrimp, portion into tortillas adding a dash more Iguana Mean Green Sauce if you are a true masochist. Roll ‘em up and enjoy with a cold bottle of Cerveza Imperial or Bavaria Gold Beer! Pura Vida just got better!
